Jay-Z and Beyoncé Welcome Baby Girl Blue Ivy, New Track

After much speculation over the last few weeks about the highly anticipated baby’s arrival, Jay-Z and Beyoncé welcomed their first child Blue Ivy into the world on Saturday evening. According to New York City news site Gothamist, the baby girl is named after Jay-Z’s album “The Blueprint” and Beyoncé’s favorite number, 4 or IV – hence “Ivy.”

Jay-Z wasted no time recording a track celebrating the new addition to his family. The song is called “Glory” and samples some of the first sounds made by the newborn baby. The song has been praised by critics for its deeply personal lyrics and Time’s TOURÉ even went as far as to call it one of hip hop’s greatest love songs. Listen below:

The most amazing feeling I feel
Words can’t describe the feeling, for real
Baby I paint the sky blue
My greatest creation was you, you: Glory
