Well, thanks to the efforts of Periscope, that’s finally possible.

Periscope, available now, is an incredible app that lets you broadcast live video to the world! Going live will instantly notify your followers who can join, comment and favorite in real time. As you receive more favorites, or hearts, they flutter higher on the screen. The rich interface also features replay ability, twitter link-up, and follower notifications.

Get it now and start sharing your world, exactly as you see it!

You may have noticed that this app is very similar to Meerkat. So which app is better? Especially with Twitter owning Periscope, can Meerkat even survive?

Ben Parr, Co-founder of DominateFund, probably said it best. “Of course it can. Foursquare survived Facebook. Snapchat survived Facebook. Reddit survived Digg. etc. The question is whether or not Meerkat itself is a product that stands on its own, not whether it can survive Periscope.”

Amen to that.
