When we see the works of Hine Mizushima, the influence of her major in Japanese traditional paintings is immediately apparent, but it is the incredible amount of
character and warmth that her works hold that stands out.

Hine describes her own work as “a bit retro, twisted, fun, nerdy, and cute, but in questionable taste,” and citing her inspiration as “Japanese retro culture and creatures like squids, octopi, slugs, mushrooms, and so on.”
