J.K. Rowling at Harvard

J.K. Rowling, author of the best-selling Harry Potter books,  gave a very inspiring commencement speech to the graduates of Harvard 2008. She talks about the benefits of failure and not to mention the importance of imagination. Why is she talking about failure? It’s simply because she believes that failure meant stripping away of the inessential. And why is imagination important? Well it is because it is the key to all invention and innovation.

Rowling is clearly not only a formidable intellectual with an astounding imagination but a person with a deep sense of fellow feeling for others trapped in trying circumstances – often outside their control. that makes her the best kind of human being. one with the heart in the right place.” – Rajen
