This “Rampart” poster with Woody Harrelson as a policeman beating a man down in the street has been getting attention. I first saw it across the street from where I’m staying in SoHo. I thought it was street art until I looked closer. The image is intense and controversial, and also mysterious because it’s not immediately clear that this is a movie poster. Actually, there aren’t any clues at all until you realize that it’s Woody Harrelson holding the police baton.

I was also curious about the date on the poster and wanted to research it a bit – later I saw the movie trailer on TV and it is in fact Rampart’s release date.

The caption, “I Work For You,” makes the Rampart poster even more compelling. This is definitely one of the most interesting movie posters I’ve seen in a while.
