Kevin Rose Announces His Newest Startup: Milk

When Kevin Rose announced he was officially resigning from Digg and starting a new company, people were anxiously awaiting for his new company. Today, Kevin Rose, and former Digg Director of Design Daniel Burka are teaming up and announcing Milk, a development lab in San Francisco’s Mission District for mobile web ideas.

As TechCrunch’s Sarah Lacy notes, Rose and Twitter Co-Founder Evan Williams share lots in common — one of the biggest lessons they both learned as early CEO’s of tech companies is not to let control escape the founders, which is what Rose claimed a lot of the issues were with Digg. Williams also officially resigned from Twitter in a day-to-day operating role, remaining a board member — he, too, is also working on a new startup.

With Milk, Rose and Burka, along with five other developers and designers, hope to tackle some of the mobile webs’ biggest issues, and create either products, or help other companies with their technology. A year from now, Rose expects that Milk would have launched four to six big ideas, instead of twenty small projects.

Now that we know what Kevin Rose is working on, we have to wait to see what Milk’s first big “thing” is going to be. Congrats Kevin and team!
